Wills and trusts and intestacy, oh my
Greetings from Louisville’s Muhammad Ali International Airport! “International” is a stretch, but it’s the global UPS hub, so I guess if I stowed away on a cargo plane I could go abroad.
I’m on my way to visit a dear friend in Denver for a few days—and since they have to work, I’ll be using my free time as a writing retreat for the dead parents book. We’re also going to see the Mountain Goats. (The band, not the animal, which is not a goat.)
Before I board my flight, I wanted to let you know that I’ve finally redone the Wills/Trusts section of the site! I’ve been auditing that estate law class since January, and it’s helped clarify the process for me—which means I can further clarify the process for you.
While keeping it short enough to fit on a comprehensive website, that is. Just cram a semester’s worth of info into a few paragraphs. Totally doable!
Friendly reminder: despite my recent Elle Woods vibes, I am not a lawyer. I cannot give you formal legal advice—not in the least because every state and county does things slightly differently. The best I can do is provide a broad overview. But I hope it helps!
Anyway, I have to see about some mountains. Catch you later.
